The Detention Corporal is the secondary supervisor on a shift, that answers to a Detention Sergeant.
In the absence of the Detention Sergeant, the Detention Corporal runs and supervises the shift.
Detention staff work 12 hours shifts of permanent days or permanent nights.
Staff work a modified Dupont schedule, which means that you typically work 14 days a month, with every other weekend off.
The Sheriff's Office is currently in the middle of a $17 million Detention Center expansion that should be completed within the next few weeks.
This will increase our levels of security and ensure that inmates are locked down as needed.
Requirements:
Anyone interested in this position must have at least two (2) years of previous or current experience in a Detention or Corrections setting, and preferably have supervisory experience.
Pay for Detention Corporal is $59,782.
