This position is located in the Renewal, Titles and Plate Unit of Vehicle Services Section.
This position is responsible for providing customer service to the general public in all areas of vehicle registration.
This position requires technical skills in order to process requests from customers using the STARS program.
This position is proficient in examining title, registration, and identification documents to detect fraudulent, altered, or suspicious items.
This position is also responsible for examining currency to ensure it is authentic.
This position accepts payments for services rendered and observes all proper money handling procedures.
This position inspects title and registration documents to ensure they are executed in the manner stated in the General Statutes and fees are collected or adjusted according to the same statutes.
The other duties of this position include researching and responding to refund requests, cancellation of title records, address changes, requests for certified records, real estate/mobile home cancellations and various general inquiries and correspondence.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
Demonstrated ability to proficiently use correct grammar, spelling, and vocabulary to compose/proofread correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain policies, procedures, and laws.
Experience in computer and Mainframe databases.
Experience in reviewing detailed documents and records for accuracy and authenticity.
Experience with recording, compiling, summarizing, analyzing data, and balancing a cash drawer.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Some state job postings say you can qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
